This project was completed during my masters program at RMIT University, in response to a brief set in collaboration with the Sentencing Advisory Council of Victoria (SAC), an independent statutory body that works to bridge the gap between the community, the courts and government on sentencing issues.
The brief I chose focused on the factors considered when sentencing young people in Victoria, a topic that required translating complex legal language into something accessible and visually engaging for a broad public audience, optimised for social media platforms.
My approach was illustrative rather than statistical, using custom artwork drawn entirely on a Wacom tablet to humanise what can otherwise feel like dry, bureaucratic content. The illustrations gave the series a distinct hand-crafted quality while remaining precise and purposeful. The final series were designed for use across Twitter and Pinterest. The work was shortlisted as part of the project selection process, with standout pieces from the cohort considered for implementation by the SAC.
